Is anyone using Paypal here in Nepal to receive money? I'm just asking because I didn't receive some payments I was supposed to get. Is it because my account is unverified or are all Nepalese Paypal users facing the same problem?
Nepal is a "Send Only" Country in Paypal which means if you create a Paypal account by adding your address as in Nepal then you can only send money to other Paypal users but cannot receive money from other users into your account.
But Above that, since Nepal Rastra Bank does not allows Nepalese Credit and Debit Card to be used on Internet for forex so you cannot use your Nepali debit/credit card to deposit funds in your Paypal account which in turn makes your Nepali Paypal account almost useless, because you can neither send nor receive.
Yeah, we've had tons of problems using paypal from Nepal so we've stopped using it temporarily on Harilo. We would receive payments but paypal would freeze it for a few days and we'd have to stay on the phone with them for hours to get them to release the funds. Apparently they don't like logins from Nepal IP addresses - and don't bother using a proxy or VPN - they can tell.
We'll have it sorted out when we're physically in the U.S. but for now we've decided to stop accepting paypal payments from Nepal.
Just an idea: I am able to us PayPal just fine from Nepal, always have been. Would suggest the following:
Keep your PayPal registered as in the US, and have a * variety * of bank accounts connected to it. As an example, you can have your US business account, your US checking account, your Nepal business account, and your Nepal personal account all linked up to your main PayPal account. You can then choose the actions to take depending upon the situation (ie: someone pays you online on your PayPal account, and you then access your account and transfer it to Wells Fargo, US, or Standard Chartered, Lajimpat, etc...).
@Samrat: You can not have full access in PayPal if registered from Nepal. I suggest you open a new PayPal with your friends name and address in US. Make sure that you ask him to register this for you from US for the first time. Also ask him to use your email to register PayPal for you. After that you are free to go. Talking about PayPal from Nepal? I do have PayPal registered with my HK company and address called YoungMinds.com.hk also one with US address and since 5 years, I am operating it very fine. There is no problem in there.
If you have any problem to withdraw funds from your PayPal to Nepal Bank, you can perhaps try www.payway.com.np
That should be fine as far as I know but make sure that you have valid address of a valid person there. PayPal could limit your account any time asking for a valid address proof. And I am sure you wouldn't want that to happen when you have funds there in your account. So be it ;)
First: You cannot add your Nepali Bank Account into any kind of Paypal account neither US nor Indian.
Secondly, you cannot withdraw your funds from US Paypal account directly into Nepali bank account. That entirely not possible. You will have to use services like Esewa or Payway to do that.. but i think thats not what you are taking about here. I am sure you are talking about EFT. Right?
I don't know how you did it but it would be great to hear if that possible.
